On my lly, i need to change the injector #1. So i need to remove the ficm and it's bracket. I have a new to me lly duramax with 110,000 miles. Truck has run fine since purchased about a year ago. The other day i had a no start issue (no smoke no sputter). Basically its real simple, your connectors will slide all the way to the outside and you will feel when it is loose. The two fuel lines on top and three bolts. There isnt really anyway to mix anything up, just make sure you disconnect your batteries. First post, looking for help with my ficm i am in the process of studding the heads, replacing injectors, as well as many other upgrades. I found on multiple forums the issues. I ice picked all injector pig tails, replaced the ficm with a reman and cleared all codes. Truck ran flawless for 30 mins. Most lly's rub the ficm wires through right at the alternator. That causes reduced power aka 'limp mode'. There's also another place where the wires go further down and. Does any one know how to tell when a ficm is about to go out. It either works or it doesnโt.
